Prepare first: Loose and lubricated is the key.

I read all the reviews before purchasing this product and several reviewers mentioned that the levers do not turn. These are threaded pipes. In order for them to rotate successfully, they must be loosened and lubricated. Before hanging it on the wall, take it apart piece by piece and apply petroleum jelly to the male and female threads with your index finger or cotton swab if you like. Coated petroleum jelly prevents rust. 2) The petroleum jelly will help the levers turn. When assembling, make sure that the tubes are not completely screwed in and that there is enough play in each connection. When you then mount the stand on the wall, adjust the connections to your liking before attaching the final screws. I also found it very helpful not to attach the towel rails until they are fully assembled so that all the connections can be adjusted. My dad is a master plumber so I knew what I was getting into when I bought this. All in all, I'm impressed with the craftsmanship. The nice thing is that this is a vertically oriented towel rail, which means both ends will screw into one stud if done right. The two holes should match up just enough to be in the stud with a plastic dowel with the third hole. Of course you can leave the plastic anchor on if you want to cut corners, but I like getting it right. Take your time. Take a few deep breaths. Don't rush the installation.
