Review on New York Toner CLI 221 Replacement by Sanny Hoffman

I really liked these cartridges and it was so frustrating to find a generic cartridge that actually works that I felt compelled to write a review for other consumers. I have a Canon Pixma MP560 (it's one of those 3-in-1s) and this ink works really well with my printer. I've tried so many generic cartridges and none of them have worked. I tried the more expensive ones ($10+) hoping they were better quality and nothing. I even went back to expensive Canon inks for a while because I was so disappointed. Now these inks don't print as sharp and clear as Canon cartridges but I only print documents and spreadsheets so I don't need photo quality results. I would not recommend printing photos with this ink. The ink is slightly more fluid than Canon's and bleeds more quickly when exposed to water (and wine in my case). The cartridges are easy to install and work in a similar way to Canon cartridges. A minor complaint is that the sticky part you have to remove is of a finer quality than Canon's and on one occasion I didn't remove it completely in one attempt the printer failed to recognize the ink. All you have to do is go back and remove it completely with your fingernail or a flat sharp object. Be quick when inserting the cartridge as the ink is thinner and you may drip or drip onto your fingers. I print almost every day so I don't know if these cartridges dry out quicker than others. However, I print about 3-6 pages a week and these 5 packs lasted me about 6 months. All in all, it makes comparing prices between Canon and this cartridge an easy task. It is ideal for printing color documents. For photos and important presentation materials, I would still buy a Canon ink set.
