Review on Melissa & Doug First Play Wooden Rocking Farm Animals Pull Train - A Whimsical Adventure for Little Ones by Nate Jenkins

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Cute first train, great for encouraging baby to crawl, but quality is lacking.

If our daughter didn't love this toy so much I would give it 3 stars. It's very cute and the size is really good and big for an older kid or a toddler. Our daughter is only 10 months old (she has it about 9 months old) so we only use it under supervision, basically we are pulling the train, our daughter crawls behind and tries to catch it. Getting her to crawl was an amazing stimulus after she had made her first attempts. She also occasionally inspects the parts, especially the animals, and pushes the carts apart. Personally I would say this is a toy that is safe for children under 18 months to play with. What we are dissatisfied with is the quality. It came with the pieces already glued together so they didn't line up properly. To make matters worse, a wheel already has a deep wound after a week of gentle use. It hasn't gotten worse in the past month but right now we have to be very careful with our daughter and not expect it to continue. I really expected better quality for the price. Will i buy it again? Probably yes, because it's so cute to see our daughter scrambling after him. But for anyone who buys this and the child doesn't seem too interested I would return it in a heartbeat as the poor quality makes it too expensive to keep around if not used often. It would be great if they sold this product with better quality.

Pros
  • Very good price
Cons
  • Piggy bank Price
