Review on πŸ‘• Efficient Black+Decker IR16X One-Step Garment Steam Iron - Stainless Nonstick Soleplate, Turquoise by Aaron Wilson

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Good general purpose iron

This iron has several features: it's fairly light (without water), the soleplate has a nice smooth non-stick surface and it glides right over the material you're working with. Iron. The iron heats up fairly quickly BUT even at the highest temperatures it doesn't get that hot so a really wrinkled cotton shirt will require you to iron very slowly to warm up the fibers. I'm a fiber artist and while this iron is a good all-purpose clothing iron, I don't recommend it for quilting - it just doesn't get hot enough. It also has a very annoying auto-off feature that cannot be turned off. Not a problem if you're ironing a few shirts, but if you use it in your sewing shop like I do, most of the time you'll have to wait for it to heat up again because the auto shut-off function has it turned off. back to you
