Perfect for the picky pet!

We recently adopted an approximately 10 year old German Shepherd from our local animal shelter. The shelter told us she would only eat canned food, but after a thorough examination of her teeth and mouth, there was no reason why she shouldn't be eating dry food. As soon as we brought her home we found that she wasn't even eating treats and wasn't even cutting up hot dogs. She is very picky! We transitioned her from canned food to semi-moist food first (Purina is moist and meaty) but we wanted her to be fed a more nutritious and elderly food, so I went in search of a quality Purina food that would do both contained semi-moist and regular (but small because the teeth are worn out) baby. I discovered Proplan Senior with Shredded Chicken and was excited to try it on our picky girl. she loved it! We immediately bought the largest bag available as soon as we realized she liked it. Now she is gaining weight (she wasn't eating well when we got her) and her coat is beautiful, shiny and soft and she hardly sheds! The bonus is that since she suffers from severe arthritis, glucosamine and omega-3s are already in the diet. But our vet suggested adding extra glucosamine/chondroitin/omega to the food which made a noticeable difference in its pungency. If I wanted to change my diet, I would increase the amount of glucosamine and omega-3 fatty acids and add chondroitin, which works well in combination with glucosamine.
