My daughter is 1 year old now and we had our first real test of this mattress topper last night. It went wrong. We had very few wet diapers and a lot of drool last year and this pad did a great job. It's mild but not dangerous for stomach sleepers. Everything changed last night. Last night my 1 year old vomited during the night but didn't wake us up. By morning the moisture had fully penetrated the mattress itself. Today I have to buy a new mattress because I can't get rid of the smell. The vomit was well washed out of the mattress topper. No stains or odors [I used Oxyclean in the wash]. But all said and done, the mattress is done. He didn't survive the illness so I doubt he'll be potty trained in the future.
