Purchased to help disassemble/clean a pair of old camera lenses, Sigma 400mm and Tokina 80-200 zoom. First things first: people say they're too smooth, so I washed them in warm water with detergent to get rid of any mildew removers they might have had in production - it's also a good way to take them apart. Another tip: when assembling lenses, a varnish is often applied to the threads of the lens cells, which effectively glues them together - it is very difficult to get them moving with such a reaming tool or even a lens wrench without dissolving the varnish with acetone - this is not a defect of the product, it's just the way it is! I used a needle/syringe with acetone for this. Next - some lenses are "deep" like telephoto lenses - you may need a lens wrench as well as these to get to the deeper elements - it's best to have both so you don't get stuck halfway! Overall they worked very well and were the only viable option for some lens cells that don't have wrench slots at all. In terms of sizing, I've always been able to find the right sizing tool for the different lens sizes I've been working with. Now that I have them I'm sure I can handle any lens.
