The dress is definitely supposed to be flattering. It's not too tight but is shows off curves once you will start walking in it. However, for ladies with a small bust, it's difficult to wear unless the dress is tied very tightly. The dress also is floor length, which is misleading because the photo shows below knee length. I HAVE to wear with heels. I am 4'11 for reference, 115 pounds with an athletic frame and got a small. The fabric is not stretchy, this is good material. I think it is real satin/silk. I've had trouble finding satin products that are not see through and luckily this dress is not.
