When I first opened the package I thought they looked very small, maybe fitting for an 18 month old. But when I tried them on my little girl who will soon be three, they stretched and fit her well. They came just below the knee. So I think if you want it above the knee go up a size. They are also so cute, the material is great, I could add a short pair of socks to them.
