Review on πŸ”’ Enhanced Anti-Tip Strap for Flat Panel TVs and Furniture by Sanus Systems - ELM701B1 by Daryl Barton

Revainrating 4 out of 5

VESA screws fit two out of every three Samsung TVs.

I live in a seismic country and I'm glad the occasional shaking didn't hurt me. Nice. So I decided to stop throwing the dice and bought a total of 3 of these Sanus Systems ELM701B1 Rollover Straps to secure 3 Samsung Flat Screen TVs. The strap is used to attach the TV to the cabinet/stand and then to the wall stand - 3 point installation. The included instructions also include instructions for attaching the TV to the stand without attaching it to the wall and instructions for attaching the TV to the wall stand without attaching the strap to the stand. Due to the location of my TVs, I couldn't use the 3-point method; Either the stand wasn't strong enough to hold the screws that attach the strap, or the distance between the stand and the wall was too far for the strap to reach. I mounted one TV to the cabinet/stand only and mounted the other two TVs directly to the wall studs. All applications appear to be safe. The Y-band design allows me to rotate the TV screen for optimal viewing even after installation to adapt to changing viewing needs. The TV is safe. This is my main reason for choosing this design over the two strap design. Installation was straightforward with two caveats: finding the center of wall studs (even with a stud finder) can be difficult; and the supplied VESA screws did not work on one of the three Samsung TVs. The supplied screws for this model were too long without the spacer and too short with the spacer. Hence the deduction of one star. Luckily I still had the VESA screws to use from the previous installation of the dual strap design on the fourth TV. (Yes, it's a shame: we have 4 TVs.) Don't expect an earthquake! Get it and install it now!
