I bought this processor for my wife 2 weeks before the release of Ryzen 3000 series processors. I paid $180. The overall speed and quality is absolutely amazing, although I did have issues with some things running unusually slowly. After some troubleshooting I found that their RAM was set to 2133MHz and setting it to 3000MHz solved the problem. Make sure you have fast enough RAM to power this processor as it will hiccup with slower RAM. The default fan was a little noisy for our liking as this is a computer used to record gameplay, the microphone picks up a bit. . Replacing even a cheap secondary fan naturally corrected the situation. This processor absolutely tore apart Minecraft and video encoding at the same time. I recommend if you can afford to go for Ryzen 2nd Gen (3000 series). If you're just upgrading from the 1000 series and want to keep your motherboard, this is a good option, but I highly recommend upgrading to the new series as they're around the same price for better performance and efficiency.
