Review on Harlow's Earth Protective Crib Mattress Cover: Waterproof Safety & Protection from Off-Gassing (PVC & Phthalate-Free) by Derek Bates

Bought for my new granddaughter after my niece passed away from SIDS. I did a lot of research and came to the conclusion that these mattresses emit toxic gases and whether or not it is believed to cause SIDS, babies should not be exposed to these toxic gases. I don't understand why our government can't at least advise people that wrapping a mattress can prevent gas formation. It's a shame that our government and the safety of our children are in the producers' back pocket. We follow all SIDS prevention recommendations BUT mattress covers are on the list. This case is made from the same (6) mil polyethylene as the expensive New Zealand BabeSafe. I have a standard crib mattress and it folds perfectly according to the instructions. Easy to use. The sound of the case is weak. Follow the instructions. (Do not add covers, sheets, pads, etc. that contain chemicals.) The instructions will tell you which cotton items to use. Thank you Harlow Earth for such an important product in my granddaughter's life.
