Review on Cerwin Vega SL 45C Center Channel Speaker by Tina Moore

Hidden Gem!: Home Audio

This speaker is a hidden gem. Never really heard of Cerwin Vega center channels. I was given an older CV with two 5 1/4's "Woofer that's also surprisingly good. Based on that I thought I would try the sl45c. I've tried Klipsch rp450c and 504c, Polk Audio csia6 (current), Infinity Alpha 37c, Elac 2.0 6.2c and a few others. This is the best value for money and next to Polk as my favorite. 4 woofers, but too bright for me, this speaker is a perfect balance between clarity and volume, but not brightness. If I bought this one first I wouldn't buy anything else, I will keep it and Polk I will buy another sl45c and keep one in my bedroom and turn one on and off. but with my home theater polk csia6. Impressed enough with this CV to try other CV speakers for my garage and bedroom. It's even possible to buy a third sl45c for the garage and trade it in for an infiniti. This cleft is not as large as many centers. It's wide but not too deep. What I like best is its narrowness. I prefer sealed centers for home theater. Polk has two 6.5 inch woofers and is ported. I provided more bass than this center but can be boomy at times. This hub delivers sufficient bass and is very clean. I don't think this speaker is perfect, but having tried so many hubs, from this @149 to the Klipsch retail at 750, it was such good value that it overcame some of its shortcomings. weak sides. Every hub I've tried sounds a little different in certain areas. These speakers have good mid-bass and clear dialogue, which I like. For reference, I'm using a Yamaha RXA2080 receiver. I'm glad I gave this center a chance and will give a summary. More opportunities in the future.
