I don't know if this is moth repellant yet but it's a good size for small fine knit cashmere sweaters - I have a larger size for all bulky knits. it didn't smell like plastic and they have a net and because they're smaller I can keep them where I can be careful not to get anything in over the summer - I've often found something in August or September that I boxed up because it was damaged in a hidden or dark place - update now that it's cooler. I checked these packages and it turned out that they worked and there was no damage. I have used them with moth traps, I guess the cedar may not have helped the lavender which I also used but definitely the bags were a huge help. I had moth damage in a closet closer to the front door where I didn't use these bags but I did use moth traps - obviously both are needed
