Review on πŸ”Œ Tripp Lite 6 Outlet Surge Protector with USB Ports, Wall Outlet Plug-In Surge Protector, 1050 Joules, 2 USB, Black, & $20, 000 Insurance (TLP6SLUSBB) by Allen Hart

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Side outlets make it unobtrusive.

Bought to replace a $120 APC brand surge arrester (the strip type that sits on the floor) that failed after about 4 years. I find this design more appealing as it sits off the floor and the entertainment center can be closer to the wall since the outlets are on the side instead of the front. This in turn can prevent your cat from getting stuck between the wall and the entertainment center and then making a real noise around 2am. That probably doesn't bother most people. Note that the USB ports are on the front, but I don't use them. Also, the "protected" and "grounded" lights are no longer visible in my app, but they worked when I plugged them in and I doubt the outlet will turn off. I check the lights when I move the entertainment center for spring cleaning or catch up the cat toys. Overall a nice unit. Joule rating could be higher but enough for an old TV and DVR that I don't own.
