I did some research and bought a few antennas before settling on the GE Pro outdoor/loft antenna that came with the amplifier. I've read 1 star reviews but there are always complaints so I checked out most of them instead. Due to the pandemic I received the antenna earlier (necessary) and the amplifier after 2.5 weeks. I immediately installed the antenna in the attic during a heavy thunderstorm and had 60 channels and no picture problems, even with thunderstorms and streaming on AirTV. In more than 2 weeks I really forgot I was watching OTA channels. I wanted to wait for the amp to finish tuning before cutting the wire. I knew this wouldn't increase the number of channels, but I wanted stability while considering the declared noise filtering and signal gain. But I did exactly the opposite. I've uninstalled and reinstalled 3 times, scanning between them each time, and consistently got 20+ fewer channels with an amp with weaker signals. Also, some discovered channels did not work. I am returning the amplifier as the antenna works much better without it, gets more channels and even better clarity. look very impressive and the results have confirmed this.
