So far so good - new bulb in, fits and works! Let me start this review by saying that I know next to nothing about light bulbs which is why I literally spent hours trying to find the right size bulb! I was also appalled that these cheaper bulbs weren't ideal as the price for 1 piece of a well known brand was 10x the price. Luckily I received 6 packs which seem to be as good as the branded packs and were packed in an EXTREMELY handy storage box so I couldn't ask for anything more from buying a bulb. For information I only knew how much current and voltage it takes to change the lightbulb in our ceiling fan, all other information was either erased from the lightbulb or just missing. I used vernier calipers to accurately measure the bulb I was replacing and apart from the 78mm length, none of my measurements exactly matched what was listed in the details of the bulbs I was looking at. For reference, the width of the bulb I replaced (in the square part of the glass bowl) was 0.39 and the diameter of the round end was 0.28. The description for this particular item does not list glass bowl dimensions (unlike other listings) but does list a .31 round end diameter. When they arrived, the new bulb's diameter was actually 0.35 for the square portion of the glass bowl and 0.29 for the diameter of the round end. So it looks like length is the most important measurement to get it right (after voltage and wattage), and as long as your other measurements match what I've listed above, you should be fine. I hope this review helps others worry a little less than I do when choosing a lightbulb! And I'll get into how the onions live over time later.
