You are perfect! I have an 8 year old daughter who usually wears size 2.5 or 3 shoes, I ordered a size 3 for her and they fit great. They are a bit big but it worked great allowing her to wear a thicker sock with them. We went sledding and her feet stayed warm and dry. She wears them to school every day and they seem to be really sturdy and cute boots. They tie so you can tighten them up and also have a side zip for easy on and off.
