This is a brand new pump, not remanufactured and a perfect replacement. It comes with the necessary gaskets, saving you a few bucks. This pump replaces a remanufactured pump at an auto parts store that only lasted about 4 years. The OEM pump has lasted over 10 years and 100,000 miles so we're looking forward to another 10 years. Here's a useful trick I learned recently that made this job a lot easier. Use some brake cleaner to clean the water pump where the seals go. You will see that there is some dirt left on it from the factory. Then use Permatex 80065 High Tack Spray-A-Gasket Sealant. Apply a thin coat of sealant to the surface of the pump seal and a light coat to ONE SIDE of the seal. Wait about a minute for the sealant to become tacky, then press the seals with the sealant-covered side against the pump. Allow the sealant to dry slightly and the gaskets will stay in place when the pump is installed on the cylinder block. Do not use sealant or RTV on gaskets where they contact the engine block. It will just make a huge mess to clean up the next time the water pump needs to be taken off (perhaps when the timing chain or tensioner needs replacing as they are behind the pump). You want a clean, dry gasket against a clean, dry cylinder block surface.
