Thicker and more stable than petroleum jelly.
I have always liked the Skin lube brand as it is a heavier and thicker version of petroleum jelly. It doesn't melt as easily at body temperature and is much more viscous. My legs often crack in the winter and it's best for me if my legs are flexible enough so they don't crack. I even use it as a lip balm, just apply a little and it lasts a long time.
