My knife box was a mess, creating a dangerous situation that could also damage my knives. Since my knives are expensive, I decided to buy a knife rest to organize and protect them. The 11 slot MIU knife tray seemed to fit my drawer best and had enough slots. The beech wood knife tray with 11 compartments holds six smaller knives and four large knives with a slot for steel. The smaller knife slots cover the blade up to 5 inches and the larger slots protect up to 10 inches yet are large enough to securely store larger knives. The steel slot is half an inch wide, but not wide enough to accommodate my pro steel. .PROS: Solid beech wood tray Holds 6 smaller and 4 large knives plus steel Large enough to keep knives in place Organizes and protects knives CONS: Steel groove isn't wide enough for me
