I ordered this product because I thought it would be a great addition to my Marshall MXL-WS-002 audio windscreen. Boy was I ever wrong I first combined them together and found that while this reduced the explosives in the audio track, it also reduced the clarity and dB level by at least 10dB - this is NOT acceptable! I then tried it out on my own and found that it didn't reduce explosive power as much as a Marshall windshield. Marshall is much better. Conclusion: My microphone technique is about microphone crosstalk, i.e. do not speak directly into the microphone and do not point the sound source directly at the 1" diaphragm microphones. I use the MXL 990 together with the MXL windscreen with excellent results because of its silky smooth sound all my audio recordings I have been recording audio for at least 10 years and have made over 10,000 recordings for the reading education industry.
