Of course, first I cut them open with a sharp chef's knife. Couldn't. Luckily! I bought two pairs, L for me and S for my mom. The size was chosen according to measurements. Mine fit perfectly but very tight, especially in the fingers. That is a good thing. to me. My mother has arthritis in her bony hands; Because of the boniness, she couldn't put the fingers of the gloves on her fingers, but I don't want to try size M because I think they don't take the boniness that well. However, they work well and will keep my hands off the mandolin and knives. (I rarely use gloves with my chef's knife except when doing something like butchering a chicken.)
