I have a 29 gram freshwater aquarium that I wanted to flicker. He's definitely capable of that. This light is a decent value if you buy a controller for it. Very cumbersome without a controller. One more thing, the tool they give you in the box to tighten the screws to mount it is rubbish, don't waste your time even if you try to mount it with just them. It will last a lifetime. I used a 1/2" socket and socket wrench and it installed in no time. The gooseneck bends a bit but isn't super adjustable like I thought. There are two channels: white and blue. Without a controller, everyone has about 4 levels With a controller you can control them from 1 to 100% I feel like I got what I paid for.
