Good value for money. This leather tip is smooth to the touch. It appears to be made from composite leather fibers with a durable finish. Very light and flexible. Although I've turned black, the inner fibers appear to be more of a tanish brown. This is not a problem as the cord will cut cleanly if you use sharp scissors or even just a sharp knife. A project with this cord should last a long time. It smells a bit like a craft store straight out of the box, but that should dissipate quickly.
