I couldn't bypass this device's app. You can only use the device once you have downloaded the app and synced it with your smartphone. The problem is that the application looks incredibly sketchy. It gives you memories of the time when you downloaded this program on your computer, which you probably shouldn't have, which turned out to be a virus. It's full of bad English, asks for your cell phone number and monitors all your vital signs. The app only has 1.5 out of 5 stars in the Google Play Store. And you need it. I couldn't get the clock to go to the home screen without syncing it to the app. It just keeps blinking a barcode asking you to scan the code and download the app. I could not do it. For a smartwatch, the app made me feel stupid. It felt like handing the keys to my phone to an Asian hacker. The phone itself looks solid and could make a great smartwatch as far as I know. But I guess I can't say it looks like I can't use it.
