We have just bought a new large mattress. I have a vinyl cover on my mattress and then put it over it to absorb sweat or spills. Anyhow, just recently one of us unknowingly bled to death and woke up in the morning with a decent blood stain on the white sheets. I removed the sheets and the JET product was bleeding. So I took that off too and NOTHING underneath! Phew, the cover and the mattress were ok. The terry cloth top of the mattress pad was soaked in blood. I treated the stain with water and then treated the Puracy stain and then put it in the wash. The stain came out after washing and I replaced the mattress topper. Pooh! I'm so glad I bought the mattress topper when I bought the mattress and didn't wait.
