High quality leather, well stitched, good height and strong. This stool comes with mounting discs for the legs which was a pleasant surprise. No permanent lock washers like metal, but thin plastic, but still a nice touch. It was a good price for such an attractive study chair. I do have a small gripe, it comes with felt pads for the chair legs to protect the floor from scratches and to keep the chair from sliding, which is great. However, the felt pads are too small to properly fit on the raised plastic on the bottom of the legs and the adhesive isn't that sticky. So the pads don't stick very well which exposes the adhesive. This results in each piece of carpet, dust and hair sticking to the exposed pad adhesive. Before you put the stool on the floor, consider putting some really good glue on the bottom of the cushion, or buy bigger ones that will stick better. I used E6000 glue and it works fine.
