The wheel has two modes of operation: normal, when it moves discretely with clicks, and continuous, when you can spin it and it will rotate by inertia for some time. This is handy when you need to scroll a lot. And perhaps that is why it has such low reliability. Some pros: Convenient wired mouse. Lies well in the hand. The sensor works fine on any of my surfaces. While some cheap red-light mice fail, this one works great. Cons: My middle mouse button doesn't work right away. Either it works or it doesn't, and it's terribly annoying, and the mouse isn't cheap.
