I use it in the field and in the lab as my iPhone 11 acts as a PIP boy for scientific research. If you have big, pumped arms, it will suit you perfectly. If you have thin, sinewy forearms like I do, they're too big to wear on the wrist of the other half of the forearm. I suspect those with a smaller frame and thin build will find the item doesn't get small enough to carry comfortably. (I'm 6ft 2in, 180lbs, my physique was intimidating.) For my intended use it doesn't really matter. It's also very comfortable for the biceps, but I found I had to tighten it a bit more than I'm comfortable with to keep it in place when wearing short sleeves. However, combined with a waterproof and shockproof case, I no longer need to carry printed copies of lab protocols with me when researching and experimenting. It is also very convenient for inventory. In the field, I can photograph sites and specimens, record data on where specimens were found, and still have both hands free for important things, like one hand for me and the other for science while I climb a rock and look for uncovered fossils . I have cell service, I have my own topographic maps, satellite photos and a GPS logging facility! With a quick twist, I can switch from handheld mode to photo mode, or even pick up my phone with one hand. Very handy when looking for fossils and the like on the road! (My arm is thin enough that rotating the phone 90 degrees on the swivel mount doesn't cover the cameras.) In areas without cell service, this is actually the best mount for my GPS and compass. I used 1/4" plywood. Laser cutting the plate to iPhone dimensions, then attaching a ballistic version of a Garmin Foretrex 701 and a pocket compass (aka Brunton Geologist's Transit) to the plate with aviation-grade Velcro. With this handy Phone holder allows me to keep my two most important pieces of gear handy in the field AND can quickly remove them for use without having to unbuckle or loosen any straps and buckles.I plan to replace the wood top with polycarbonate in the near future.Overall I'm very happy with this one Product and would recommend to anyone working in the lab and/or in the field. Probably very handy for hunters and fishermen. I don't know how useful this is for runners and such as I don't do anything like that. (My job is more as stressful enough so I don't have to be a hamster person to stay fit!) I'm actually considering getting one for to buy my other hand as I can use the slab laser cutting process to assemble other useful things such as a small waterproof notebook and even a flashlight.
