UPDATED REVIEW: I am leaving the content of my original review below and applying the update here. The company got back to me and offered to send me a replacement in the hope that the unit I received was defective. They were very responsive and helpful in answering questions and making sure everything was working as intended. So far the new headphones have worked great! I've used them a few times both on the golf course and for woodwork and haven't had any issues with power outages! Loading works as it should! The touch controls are still a bit finicky, but I guess that's just the nature of the beast with controls like this (so a real button that I can press and feel would work better, IMO, but I'm not experienced engineer for things like that :). Now I am definitely happy with them and very grateful to the company who got in touch and sent a replacement! It should also be noted that the sound quality appears to be better on this pair than the previous pair, confirming that I think the original was a defective unit! ORIGINAL REVIEW /? /? /? /? Working Bad: One of the headphones (correct in my case) is constantly turned off. Charge the case in a vertical position, otherwise the earbuds will not charge properly. Capacitive touch control is basically useless. All in all, this would be great for the money, but I keep getting the issues listed above and it's incredibly frustrating. First, when I'm on the golf course or in the garage doing some woodworking, the right earbud randomly turns off after about 15 minutes of use and continues to do so after turning it back on. I think that may be because the capacitive touch sensors think my ear is performing a press and hold operation, which turns it off. I haven't quite figured out why, but so far this is the main culprit. If the case isn't upright, the earbuds won't push all the way into their slots, so they won't charge fully. I put them on the next day and after 5 minutes there was a low battery warning (usually in the right earbud). The only solution I could find is to make sure the device stays upright while the earcups are in and trying to charge. One reason for this could be that I use foam ear pads instead of silicone ear pads (because the silicone ear pads fall out of my ears and bother my ears). Due to the design of the case, I can't leave the foam pads attached, so I have to remove the foam pads each time to put the ear pads back in the case (which is annoying). So the design could rely on attached silicone pads to put extra pressure on the ports when in the charging case? But even if that's the reason, it looks like a bad design flaw. Also, the fact that the case doesn't work with aftermarket earpads sucks. Finally, capacitive touch operations are terrible. They don't work half the time and mostly do the wrong thing. Single-tap volume up and down is the most reliable, but double-tap and triple-tap require multiple attempts and produce incorrect results in most cases. At the same time, it would be easier for me to get the phone out of my pocket and do operations on it, since at least it would be more reliable. Full disclosure, I bought two of these, one for myself and one for my wife. My wife seems to work with no issues but she doesn't use it for activities like workouts. So it can only be my block. At least they have great noise cancellation when they work!
