Review on DeployHQ by Nathan Vaughn

DeployHQ - Easy tool and great community

I like that it is very easy for developers who are not familiar with deployment process, since they can follow instructions without any knowledge of configuration management technologies (such as Puppet).

It also has an open source version which makes me feel more comfortable because my organization doesn't want all our code base in private repositories but we still need something similar to GIT so you have everything under one roof - centralized storage/versioning system. There isn’t much different about this compared other solutions out there- just use whatever works best! The most important point would be getting started easily using CLI commands instead having puppet etc.- This way developer don´t even think how complicated such thing could look when dealing them later :) Also if someone does know some complex stuff regarding config files then he should check his skills before starting new project :D We were able help ourselves at first time while learning basics only by looking into examples provided by deploy.

Pros
  • I like how easy it is to deploy and how easy to follow instructions
Cons
  • :) I just think it is the best and most important thing that we can have a centralized storage/versioning system with one roof so we can use as much as we want even GIT! :) I think deployHQ is one of solutions that should be the way to use for
