Doesn't last long, doesn't go well with small strands of hair

At first I thought they were great - they stretch well. The first thing I noticed is that they are quite large, so with small strands you have to tie the end with a lot of loops. Second, they hardly lasted all night. And by the end of the night, I realized that the rubber bands in my hair had snapped. I tied small strands of hair together in four places and each one broke. I've attached a picture so you can see the strips are broken in several places. And the ones below try to show how great they are
