Each of the two compartments has a soft and velvety side. The other side is soft and slippery. So you can put the lenses on the velvety side. Excellent product - protective, comfortable, well made, attractive, pleasant to the touch. Easy to attach to a purse or anything else that has a ring. There is a cleaning cloth at the bottom of each compartment. At first I thought that one of the fans had a sharp point protruding into the pouch on the velvety side, but turns out it was just a random bit of something stuck to the surface. That (probably unusual) issue aside, the product looks very well made. It has a satisfying touch and high-end appearance.
