Review on LEATHERMAN Rebar Multitool: Cut, Saw, and Tackle Any Task in Style with Premium Replaceable Wire Cutters - Black Edition with MOLLE Sheath by Rob Madden

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Tool bag beast. Highly recommended.

Why buy Rebar: • Excellent build quality. Made in the USA. No play, no rattling, no machining marks, all smooth and clear. Sturdy steel construction, no plastic parts • Good selection of tools. Interchangeable knives. All instruments are locked. • Comfortable handles. Rounded edges provide a comfortable grip for extended use • Size and weight. This is the lightest of the full size Leatherman tools. Conveniently fits in your pocket or on your belt and carries most of the tools you need plus one of the world's best multi-tool pliers • Performance: Surprisingly strong pliers for their size. 154CM cutting pliers, an exact complement to larger tools like the Surge. Much stronger than the wingman's pinch type. Crosshead made of D2 tool steel. Very strong and durable. Sharp blades, heavy duty can opener and awl, large file, very aggressive saw • 25 Year Leatherman Guarantee. As long as you don't go crazy over it, you'll pass it on to your kids. Why you shouldn't buy Rebar: While it's a great tool, Rebar may not suit your needs as well as another multi-tool. The design is not for everyone. • All tools are available when you open the tool. This has its pros and cons. This makes the tool smoother, with fewer edges to snag pants/pockets and less prone to getting dirty etc. Not to mention that one-handed blades are banned in many countries. Depending on what tools you use the most, the rebar design may not suit your needs. • No scissors. The lack of scissors due to the design choice is not a disadvantage (having inefficient scissors would be a disadvantage). If you need scissors in a multi-tool, it should be obvious that Rebar shouldn't be your first choice. • No spring-loaded tongs. Like the lack of scissors, the lack of a spring in the pliers is a design choice. They decided to make it what it is. If spring loaded pliers are high on your priority list, this is not the tool you need. • No pocket clip. While it's easy to carry in your pocket, it can't really be strapped on. The Rebar is not a one-handed, quick-deployment tool, so it would be wise not to have a pocket clip on it. However, if you really want it, you can add it. • He is too small for you. While Leatherman has some very functional models, there are larger models that will better suit your heavy duty needs. Conclusion: Find out before you buy a multi-tool. Prioritize first and buy a multi-tool that adequately covers them. Don't buy a multi-tool and don't try to tailor it to your needs. Think about what is important to you. Are you buying it to use or just because it looks cool? Are you buying it for work, a hobby or just to have one? Do you buy it for pliers and consider everything else as a bonus? Are you buying it primarily for blades? .Check prices, look at reviews and if possible go to a store and get one. Finding the perfect multi-tool with the perfect set of tools, quality, ergonomics and price is very difficult. You will likely need to purchase several. But in the end you will find something almost perfect. For me, that's rebar. Photo: 1. Pliers for a surge and fittings. Make sure the wire cutters are the same size.2. Surge, Rebar, Wingman, Micra.3. Rebar and Mikra are closed.4. Rebar tongs and wingman. Interchangeable 154 cm scissor cutters on Rebar, non-interchangeable pliers on Wingman.
