Review on πŸŽ’ Manfrotto Pro Light 3N1-36 Photography Backpack: Holds 3 Cameras, 5 Lenses, Tablet & 15" PC – Perfect for Canon C100 & DJI Phantom Drones by Kim Conner

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Nice bag but if you can get 3n1 25 it might be a better buy.

I am a big fan of kata bags and when it came time to expand my collection I turned my attention to the Manfrotto line. Kata and Manfrotto branding. From the looks of it they were able to make the 26 bag 0.5 pounds lighter, but I'm not sure how the material and the outside sizing match up. As for the internal dimensions, it just doesn't make sense (when it comes to the numbers given, the 26-pocket has larger internal dimensions (16.5 x 9.1 x 6.3) than the 25-pocket (12.6 x 8.7 x 6.3) more laptop storage (15.75 x 7.87 x 1.57 vs. 11.61 x 8.86 x .59) and 25 more room for cameras in the bag (12, 6 x 8.66 x 6.3 vs 10.04 x 9.06 x 6.3) TST Ribbed structure from center shaft to support tripod holder Possibly a good feature as you can now carry a tripod that is in terms of the bag is more evenly positioned Don't stand the bag upright. I would add some support legs at the bottom to keep this bag upright. As with my old kata bag, I really don't like the water bottle "fix" they give you. When you put it on don't pack a small bottle of water, I can never clip my bottle on small hikes, I can see the water bottle drop every time even when using it in sling mode falls if you tip the bag. I would have preferred to see some sort of attachment that clips on to the side and is designed to fit a variety of bottles snugly, maybe with two clasps so the bottle doesn't wobble when you walk. I would say this is a great bag. The bags 25 and 26 are very compact and light. I use them for day trips or for quick shots. I love how you can switch straps on the fly, I don't always need a shoulder bag and the ability to cross straps for the serious parts of my hike is a nice touch. Those nice thick "hip hugs" only add to the comfort of these bags. At the moment you can still get a 25 bag and there is a significant price difference. Eventually I'll end up with the 26 bag but if price is important to you the 25 bag offers everything a 26* bag offers but at a much lower price. (*Despite the same functionality, the implementation can differ, for example: bag 25 has a tripod shell, while bag 26 includes this in the design.) Finally, B&H points out on its website that the laptop compartment can hold a 13-inch laptop. However, on the Manfrotto website, the "laptop compartment" is actually a tablet compartment that supports anything under 10 inches. I have a Galaxy Note 12.1 and it will NOT fit in the laptop slot. I have no idea how a 13 inch laptop fits. Keep in mind that if you need to carry a 13" laptop (assuming it's thin), you'll need a 25" case.

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons
  • Functionality
