SafeCastle is ready to go!

Guys, I bought one of these a few weeks ago and really couldn't tell how much life was left in it (newbie sorry). It looked overdue and after reading some of the reviews on here I thought I might have gotten a looser card. I have permission to return the card, but I have contacted SafeCastle for more information to determine the condition of the card and I have sent them a photo of my card upon request. SafeCastle, especially Amber, was easy to work with and very helpful. Here's what I got from them: your card looks great and has plenty of time left, putting the card in the freezer helps extend its shelf life. Based on your photo, the shelf life is 4 years under 40F. The RADTriage sensor wand will turn a color equivalent to approximately 10 mSv after approximately one year when stored at room temperature or approximately 70°F. RADTriage expires one year from the date of issue (the issue date of your specific card is 01/2017). However, when stored in the freezer, the shelf life is 5 years from the date of manufacture and certainly with a color change around the FIT dots (the dots are no longer visible). Hope this helps, let me know if you have any other questions. Thanks amber Lots of useful information! I saved the card and just bought a second one (oh put that thing in the fridge as the radiation doesn't care if the card is outside, in your house, car, fridge, anywhere BUT in a lead can, storage in the fridge is a great idea - I'll check it every time I eat out!
