Review on 📻 Sangean DT-180 Portable AM/FM Radio by John Kachinosky

Unfortunately I only have to give this model one star due to the same serious fault that other buyers have reported here. Four of my five preinstalled top buttons broke off despite normal use (nothing worse than keeping them in your pocket while mowing the lawn). I came here today to check the warranty which is 90 days. I bought this product from Revain 91 days ago. Even if I've convinced Sangean to replace it, given the number of similar complaints I'm seeing here, I have little confidence that the next unit they send out won't have the same defect. My current purchase was a replacement for a similar model (DT-180) that became unusable when the headphone jack collapsed into the unit. But that's after two years of continuous use. A similar durability issue on the top of the case surfaced almost immediately after purchase. It's a shame because over the years I've had half a dozen Sangean pocket and tabletop radios and the quality has always been excellent in the past. I hope they will report a solution to the issue so I can restore trust in the brand. ***UPDATE, 9 MONTHS AFTER PURCHASE*** Shortly after I wrote the above review, the fifth and final preset button fell out. I have lived with this situation to this day. In the second photo I posted you can see the power button on the side is broken and stuck in the bottom position in the case. I can return to the original position, but the button does not respond and therefore the radio does not turn on. This means that on my last two Sangean pocket radios all the functional components on the surface failed - the headphone jack, the presets and the power button. Enough! I can no longer justify overpaying for a poor quality product. Today I bought a half price unbranded Chinese one to replace my last Sangean purchase.
