These pants will work fine for the winter. They are best described as thick and bulky. They are very warm. Best for around the house. Glad I bought small, though my waist is 33". A medium would have been much toooo large in the thighs and ass. A good front fly. Two zippered side pockets. One buttoned back pocket.
