I bought this swimsuit for my 16 year old daughter who normally wears skimpy two piece swimsuits. However, she will be working as a camp counselor this summer and she needed something more humble in the form of 1 item. She is 5'7" and 160 pounds with a physically strong build. I bought her a large coat. But the Wednesday was PERFECT. Bought 4 for the summer. I would add that I'm 5ft 7" tall am 145lbs and would also wear a medium size however my body type is not as physically good as yours which is why I say body type is important when determining sizing It was a great purchase for our needs at a great price.
