I LOVE this camera! I researched a lot about waterproof cameras and settled on this one. I also have a Canon Digital Elph which is smaller and I thought I'd use it more often because of the size... However, I ended up using the Lumix as my everyday camera because it's super fast, it takes great photos and because it does is complex, I don't have to worry that much if it falls off or spills, etc. Friends praise the photos, and when they use it, they praise how fast it is compared to their own. I got a bright orange because I figured it would be easier to find if I dropped it in the water. It leaked once but once it dried it worked again and hasn't leaked since so I think there may have been a tiny particle in the seal and I recommend cleaning the seal every time you open small doors, to be cleaned with the supplied brush. , especially when you know you're going to take it into the water with you. It's a little bigger than my Elph but not as big as some other rugged cameras and I can still fit it in my bag so size isn't an issue. I'll say I LOVE him so far, but after working for a few years... he suddenly became a lot less responsive. I don't know what to do about it but taking photos has gotten a lot slower and sometimes it just doesn't work - I press the shutter button halfway down to focus and when I press it nothing happens and I keep thinking, that she's going to end up taking a picture at some point, and she's not. You have to press a couple of times before this happens, then I skip the action or people get mad at how long it takes me. I still give him five stars for his amazing performance, but I'm not sure if he's only been good for a few years. Actually no, 4 stars because for the price it should work for a few years.
