The file is good for toenails or fingernails. My only wish is that it has the ability to file the pointed end. I have some problems under the nail that need smoothing, but other than that I like it. I seem pretty strong but 4 stars because I feel like I need to lighten up where the file meets the handle. Maybe it's not, but I'm still cautious on the matter. I had a question about using a cuticle trimmer and got a quick response from the manufacturer. Anyway, I'm not allowed to use it for that, but now I know you have to be very careful when using it. This is a beautiful, lightweight file that's easy to use, carry around, or store.
