Great Fence!: Learning and Behavioral Guide

We are very happy with our purchase. This is our first ground fencing system so we have no comparison but so far it has met our expectations. could cover almost 1 hectare of land. We still have a lot of cables to fix. In YardMax mode, the dog actually has to cross the wire to get electrocuted, so you can maximize your space - just make sure the wire is away from the road or other dangerous areas (they recommend at least 10 feet, but I go further like the dog that runs at full speed, can run far and fast). /product/B001FA9SBG/ref=cm_cr_ryp_prd_ttl_sol_1) and it works very well (except for the odd case where we accidentally hit it with a grass cutter). However, splicing is very easy. The only place we buried the wire was under the driveway (in the rubber hose as recommended). One thing we learned is that if you twist 3 layers of wire together, the signal ([.]" ) doesn't *turn off*. Due to our odd garden shape and access to electricity from the house, it took a while It took us a while to figure out the best way to route the cable. There are diagrams in the instructions to illustrate this which was helpful. Our system is in a basement with an open staircase Wire break alarm but for us it is it loud enough. If I couldn't hear well or my basement was more enclosed, the ground floor would probably be better. We chose this model because we read that collar batteries are very expensive compared to other non-rechargeable models ($100 for a battery that only lasts a year!) After 2 months of use we only had to charge the collar once. It takes about 3 hours to charge. It is included in the charge but I have it for all F all charged after a month. We have a 4.5lb Yorkshire Terrier and were concerned the collar would be too big for him. It's a little bulky for his tiny neck, but he does a great job. We followed the tutorial closely and it worked really well. The user manual is quite simple and clear. Our dog understood the idea immediately and now he can't cross the line anymore. The trick is to make sure the collar is in the right place every time you put it on him (especially during exercise) so he gets an electric shock if it's crossed. He learned quickly after 2-3 shots. This is a shy dog, so setting #3 works for him (the second lowest shock setting since setting #1 is just for training). One interesting thing we learned is that he's a very "cool" dog when he's on a leash and we're standing behind him. If he loses on his own, he's not that cool anymore (which is good as I was afraid he'd attack passing gophers and dogs, but he runs away when we're not with him). We leave the collar. shoot all day and night (unless the weather is bad and we know it will only come out a few times). It's great to see him free and we're so glad we made the jump to the fence in the ground. I think my only complaint is that it would be nice if they gave more than two splice kits with the fence and extra wire. Sentence. Otherwise we are very satisfied.
