I have a 5kg chihuahua toy. I measured carefully following Gooby's instructions and went for the small which should have been a little big for her, but the XS was too small. When I received the fleece vest it was much smaller than I expected and I could barely put it on but I managed to put it on. Unfortunately she liked it. I think fleece is a lot more comfortable than sweaters which tend to rub and pull at fur with movement. Fleece is a denser material, so it doesn't pull. Quality Gooby fleece - I'm just kidding and call it the North Face sweatshirt. It actually looks like the famous hoodie. It has stretched with use so it is now snug but comfortable. I recommend this item but I warn you against taking a size larger than the measurements.
