Review on Sony WF-1000XM3 Black Truly Wireless Earbuds with Mic, up to 32 Hours Battery Life, Stable Bluetooth Connection, Wearing Detection and Alexa Built-in for Noise Cancelling by Alvin Ng ᠌

Revainrating 4 out of 5

It was a reasonable purchase, I will order more.

1 month of use St. Petersburg, 10 Zagorodny Avenue, PO Box 5903 Sony's headphones require their own software to function. Equalization for headphones is customizable via the app, and the clean bass technology and noise cancellation are exclusive to the app. The application produces a sound that is both aesthetically pleasing and sonically engaging, with decent bass that does not overpower the rest of the mix. Without it, the sound is really lackluster, lifeless, and dull. One drawback of using the app's features is that they drain the headphones' battery quickly. According to the manufacturer, you can use the device for a total of 8 hours + 24 hours before needing a recharge if you don't use any of the capabilities available inside the app (such as noise reduction), or 6 hours + 18 hours if you do. This has left me feeling quite let down. Paying someone to work for just two hours would be a huge waste of money. Noise cancellation makes it so that everything can be heard clearly, the ear canal is not compressed, and the headphones don't feel too tight, but autonomy is a huge letdown. You need more time than just two hours to see the city properly. I'm crossing my fingers that the batteries in my headphones were faulty from the get-go. Otherwise, the maker is outright fibbing about worker independence at work. Interruptions to the connection are a normal part of using a bluetooth connection and should not be seen as a negative. These are the headphones for you if you want to hear every nuance of your music and still enjoy deep bass. They are not practical for urban travel (at least those that I have). The combination of the poweramp player's built-in equalizer and the app's headphones equalizer produced a sound that was just right for me.

Pros
  • It's a completely different sound. In neither sense of the word, bad or good. The headphones' colored high and mid-high frequencies make the sound more vibrant. Since the clear bass function produces bass that is thick, clear, collected, and unblurred, you can enjoy heavy meat music (metal, death metal / core, etc.) without missing any of the subtleties or nuances in the music's composition. It doesn't get all mushy or anything. The music is fascinating and has great sound quality. Set has 6 pairs total; 3 foam and 3 silicone. Using Quick Charge technology, the case can rapidly recharge both the earphones and itself. The utility is useful because it displays how much power each set of headphones (and their carrying case) consumes.
Cons
  • The noise canceling technology adapts to your current location. It does not obstruct or dampen outside noise, allowing you to keep an ear out for any dangers while riding the subway or other public transportation (the music does not sound expressive). When external noise levels drop, the noise canceling feature engages fully (the music plays as it should). Changing modes causes a brief pause in the current mode's playing. Personally, I have disabled the option to switch modes within the app, and while the noise reduction is effective, it is not powerful enough to block out sounds from the street or the train. (this is because the earpiece is too big for the ear); - The headphones do not provide effective noise cancellation since they are too big for my ears and do not fit snugly in my ear canals. Another issue is that the left earpiece never seems to stay put and causes constant irritation. In this way, events transpired (in the photo you can see the Kotska from falling onto the asphalt). - Autonomy. They work for me for a maximum of 2 hours, and after 1 hour and 40 minutes the right ear says that the charge level is low (20%). This is disappointing given that they are advertised as having a 6 hour battery life (plus an additional 18 hours when charged in the case).
