I have been thinking about buying a pair of BT headphones for many years, have read countless online reviews and heard the opinions of all my colleagues. I've always bought cheap in-ear headphones with the knowledge that they will break in about two years. The price of this set and the positive reviews convinced me to try the BT as headphones. My first observation was that the headset is really cheap - lots of toy-grade plastic that looks like it will tear or break very easily. I babysit my electronics so I figured I could handle it. I then tried listening to music on my phone with the headset plugged in to get a baseline. The sound quality was mediocre, but at full volume (phone AND headset) the audio was half as loud as my old cheap ($12) in-ear headset. I tried listening to music and movies on my computer. The volume was significantly lower on all devices at full volume than I was used to from my cheap headphones. Perhaps the fact that the earbuds are right in the audio channel gives them an edge. But then terrible Bluetooth sync problems started. Every time I disconnected the headset from the machine (laptop, phone, iPad), the BT settings were forgotten. I would have to resync or even delete the headset and then reconnect. And at times lost the signal. There are no other Wi-Fi/BT signals around me. So I started using the headset strictly as a wired headset. Finally, I figured I could use this headset as a replacement for the VERY cheap ($8) wired mic headset I use when I need to talk to clients over the internet. I was upset when I heard from them that the sound quality was worse than what they are used to (clients I meet online weekly). I was so disappointed. I understand that you can't expect much for $30 these days, but my house is littered with electronics that I bought that haven't worked for a few months but I can't return them because it's been over 30 days . . These plastic devices are designed for busy landfills or worse. I guess I'll just stick with the old fashioned, tried and tested wired headsets. At least the sound quality and volume were better than those cheap, high-tech headphones.
