It took my 16 lb Poodle mix two days to learn how to use this ladder. He didn't know what to do when I leaned the ladder against the sofa for the first time. He's used to jumping on the couch, but he's got a broken leg, so he'd better use the stairs. I put a treat on each step and eventually it stuck. Now he uses the stairs alone. The ladders are very strong which supports his weight well and the height of the three rung ladder is perfect for him. I also like that they stay on my carpeted floor so they don't slip and stop my dog from using them. I'll probably buy another set to keep with my mom for visits. Very satisfied and highly recommended!
