After 23 years of professional wedding photography. (now retired) With a heavy 35mm handheld camera and miles of film. This Nikon D3200 was my first choice as an upgraded DSLR. Fairly new to the "digital" SLR. I picked up the instructions pretty quickly as they are pretty much the same as the ones on my old camera. The concept and rules of photography have not changed. I found this camera fairly easy to use after reading the instructions and doing some trial and error just to take photos with the camera. This camera has all the features I would use. There is even a photo editor in the menu. Color enhancement, cropping, red-eye correction, black and white conversion of photos, even added a star filter. Heating or cooling effect, many more things. I used to do color prints by hand in a darkroom. This camera comes with an 18-55mm lens, which I find to be a great short focal length zoom lens, but it won't be my main lens. I would use a 35mm straight lens for general use, can use the lens in much lower light without a flash, and an 18-55mm lens for other things like family gatherings where you don't have to step out to see take a picture. Simply zoom in or out to fit the frame to the subject being photographed. The camera has a pop-up flash, which is very convenient and easy to use and is suitable for a distance of three to twelve feet. Please note that the flash is slightly higher than the lens. You are more likely to get red-eye quite easily if the subject is looking into the camera lens while taking a photo. The fix has TTL. an external, dedicated flash on a hot shoe bouncing off the ceiling. Much better results. I think my research homework paid off. I was looking at the newer model of the D3300 camera and its specs. little has changed, but the price of the newer model has increased. So I saved about sixty dollars by buying an older model camera. The D3200 started with new additions after the D3100 as I noticed it will be the ML-L3 wireless remote controller. Buying a VR lens costs extra money. They sell this without a VR lens. less than $. You need VR on your lens when using a zoom lens. Reduces vibration to reduce blur with slower shutter speeds or fast-moving subjects. VR = Vibration Reduction Overall, the Nikon D3200 was my first choice for an all-round DSLR. As soon as you pick up your SLR camera, it will be commented on. Then it starts being a series of 'goods that fit' and gets added to the camera. Because with this camera you can aim and shoot much more than just creative photography. I gave this 5 stars.
