To be honest I wasn't sure what to expect. Yes I lived at a time when they were popular but I never had them. The reason for my purchase is that I am a professional DJ and own a DJ business. We're doing the 80's dance and I'm wearing a spiked wig and these leather bracelets. I chose these based on the reviews from many for sale and love the fact that the cleats/studs can be swapped out if needed. I took them out of the box and they are hard but I expected that. There is no extraneous smell, but the smell of the skin can be felt. All rivets were in place and held up well and all appear to be of very good quality. Note, however, that the tips are sharp. Not sharp like needles, but they hurt when they come into contact with your body and forget you're wearing them. If you are itchy or sweaty on your forehead and normally use your bare wrist to do this and wear them, you will remember putting them on quickly and painfully. You don't want to meet anyone with these bracelets. They are great for what I need them for and the quality is high. However if you have a large wrist they might be too small as I have smaller wrists and use the first locking range but I also like them a little loose and not tight. The clasps seem to work well and fit together easily. As they can sweat a little, they can also be worn as part of your everyday attire if you wish. If you are looking for stud bracelets, I will buy this HZMAN set without hesitation.
