I'm 5'10, 165-170 lbs, plus size fits me and I'm slimmer. In XL it would be a little looser and more comfortable. The material is very soft and does not rub anywhere. Honestly on my bum for my comfort level but I'm more modest. It was for a bachelor party. I will say I gave it 4 stars because after a day on the lake it started to curl up a bit and the bib folded inside the suit.
